Live Love Shop Eyre Peninsula are proud to be pledging a new donation to The Vinnies Fred’s Van meal service.
The Vinnies Fred’s Van meal service provides all kinds of nourishment – not just food! The service operates at 10 sites across South Australia, including Port Lincoln.
Their volunteers help break through the barriers of loneliness and isolation that many people experiencing poverty and/or homelessness feel. They can provide a meal, blankets, toiletries, snacks, hot beverages and most importantly, companionship. As a result, Vinnies has helped foster genuine communities of friends from all walks of life.
Anyone is welcome at Fred’s Van sites. They especially encourage people in our community who are sleeping rough or who are in insecure accommodation to access the service. People are under no obligation to pay for the meals or goods provided, but we do encourage people to stay and chat as a Fred’s Van community.
Live, Love, Shop Eyre Peninsula donate another $2500 to The Matthew Flinders Home Port Lincoln.
Live Love Shop Eyre Peninsula are proud to have again donated $2500 to the Matthew Flinders Care Services.
Matthew Flinders Care Services officially opened on the 6th of December 1981 and has since grown to a 69 bed high care residential facility that includes 13 bed secure dementia wing (Waratah) and 4 beds allocated as high care respite beds. They also operate a Day Centre program to meet the needs of clients from the community. Matthew Flinders Care Service also delivers care in the Home with Home Care Packages Level 1 to Level 4.
Their mission is to enhance the quality of life of Care Recipients through the provision of holistic care and support services in an atmosphere that maintains dignity and supports individual rights.
Our donation is a ‘thank you’ to the local community and we couldn’t be happier to do it. This donation will assist The Matthew Flinders Home in delivering their essential care services.
Matthew Flinders Care Service is a community owned not for profit business, so these contributions go a long way.
Live, Love, Shop Eyre Peninsula recently donated $5000^ to The Royal Flying Doctor Service.
Royal Flying Doctor Service provides “vital aeromedical retrieval services across rural and remote Australia”. This means providing healthcare access to Australians who are not capable of receiving the healthcare offered to populations in cities and townships.
As you know, Australia is a huge country. Over 7.69 million square kilometres big, one-third of the population lives in rural and remote areas – this can mean up to 6-hour drives to local townships.
The charitable activities offered by the Royal Flying Doctor Service save the lives of Australians regularly. They provide around-the-clock emergency aeromedical rescue for health issues like heart attacks, injuries, labour, and more.
This group also acts as a GP for bush communities, which means flying in and out of rural communities – RFDS has provided service to certain families for as many as five generations.
The Service is also involved in research related to helping the health issues that plague rural communities throughout Australia. This is done to help prevent future health complications, rather than fix emergencies as they arise.
This long-term prevention and devotion to the betterment of our country is arguably one of RFDS’s biggest contributions to Australia, helping us advance and become a better, healthier nation.
The services offered by the Royal Flying Doctor Service benefits Australia as a nation in an astounding way, and we are pleased to help in the best way we can.
Our $5000^ donation is a ‘thank you’ to the local community and we couldn’t be happier to do it. This donation will assist RFDS in delivering their essential health and emergency medical services to people in need.
RFDS is a not-for-profit aeromedical organization, so these contributions go a long way.
This is our way of giving back and we are excited to donate to other charities and funds in the future.
